Bell & Ross Is Back With A BR-X3 Sequel: Night Vision
It’s been just months since the debut of the inaugural BR-X3 trilogy, and yet Bell & Ross is already rolling out its second chapter: the BR-X3 Night Vision. Clearly, the brand is not only confident in the concept but also prepared to evolve its experimental X3 series after over 30 years of innovation since the BR-03’s original launch.
The BR-X3 Night Vision propels the BR-03 into a contemporary dimension, taking cues from one of the most technologically demanding environments imaginable: nighttime aerial missions. The brand has long been inspired by cockpit instrumentation, and in this iteration, it’s taken the philosophy further, combining photoluminescent technology, and a bold aesthetic that evokes a fighter pilot’s HUD (head-up display).
Encasing the Night Vision edition is a 41mm multi-component case that employs the familiar “sandwich” construction. Two main plates are made from LUM-CAMO, a high-tech composite of carbon fiber and SLN resin. These plates are fastened with four screws housed in protective cylinders, which for this edition are green rubber and photoluminescent.
The middle case, sandwiched between these plates, is crafted in titanium coated with black PVD. This combination not only enhances strength but also contributes to the watch’s techno-futuristic aesthetic. Green Super-LumiNova accentuates both the dial and the structure, making the watch instantly legible in total darkness. The color choice is deliberate, referencing aeronautical HUD systems. For pilots, green is the preferred color for night vision displays because it maximizes legibility without impairing ocular adaptation.

The photoluminescent green-highlighted cutout pattern is topped with a green-tinted sapphire crystal
The X-shaped, multi-layered dial is skeletonized, with smoked glass revealing the BR-CAL.323 caliber, an automatic movement developed in collaboration with Kenissi Manufacture. It offers up to 70 hours of power reserve, is COSC-certified for accuracy, and backed by a five-year warranty. Green photoluminescent highlights adorn the cutouts, hands, numerals, indexes, and even the 70-hour power reserve and large date window, producing a visual effect reminiscent of a cockpit’s illuminated instruments.
On the case-back, a green-tinted sapphire crystal showcases the oscillating weight and caliber decoration.
The Night Vision is the latest addition to the BR-X3 trilogy
With Night Vision, Bell & Ross now explores nocturnal aerial missions. The new model joins the BR-X3 Black Titanium and BR-X3 Blue Steel, completing a thematic exploration of extreme environments. The Black Titanium drew inspiration from stealth aircraft, blending tactical aesthetics with lightweight robustness. Blue Steel, by contrast, evokes the color codes of a space flight suit, offering a more refined, contemporary look.
The lineup reflects the “X” designation, traditionally used in science and engineering to denote experimental or extreme projects. In the BR-X3 series, the X-code signals the most advanced evolution of the BR-03.
The BR-X3 Night Vision is a limited edition of 250 pieces and retails for US$14,100.
