Swatch Unveils Mission To Earthphase – Moonshine Gold
The newest addition to the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, “Mission To Earthphase – Moonshine Gold”, launches exclusively on August 9, coinciding with the full “Sturgeon Moon”. According to Space.com, the Sturgeon Moon gets its name from the season when sturgeon are most easily caught, and it offers a great chance to spot the striking Tycho crater and its prominent rays stretching across the Moon’s surface.
What is an Earthphase?
If a moon phase shows the Moon from Earth, then an earth phase shows Earth from the Moon — d’oh. Swatch debuted this imaginative complication last year, reflecting how lunar observers would see a “new” Earth. Since the Earth and Moon orbit in tandem, the Earth phase progresses counterclockwise, opposite the moon phase. I.e., the 29.5-day earth phase cycle mirrors that of the moon, just in reverse.

Beneath the earth phase indicator is an illustration of Snoopy and his loyal friend and frequent co-pilot, Woodstock
Unlike previous MoonSwatches, Mission To Earthphase – Moonshine Gold features not only an Earth phase but also a moon phase indicator at 2 o’clock, complete with two radiant full moons. Both are coated in Omega’s proprietary Moonshine™ Gold, and one is wrapped in a net pattern — a subtle nod to the Sturgeon Moon’s fishing reference.
The case is made of Swatch’s patented Bioceramic and features a new deep navy blue unique to this release.

In a playful nod to the origins of the full moon’s name, one moon on the indicator is draped in a net-like pattern
As NASA’s long-time safety mascot and a symbolic passenger on the Apollo missions, Snoopy’s place in space lore is legendary. On this new model, Snoopy and Woodstock are illustrated sitting on the Moon, marveling at Earth. Hidden beneath the Earth phase indicator, this artwork also includes a secret phrase only visible under UV light — “I beat everybody”. It’s one half of the full phrase “I beat the Russians… I beat everybody…” that comes from a Peanuts comic strip in which Snoopy imagines himself as the first beagle to land on the Moon, triumphantly declaring his victory in the space race.
Where and when can you get this MoonSwatch edition?
This model will be available only on August 9, the night of the full moon, at selected Swatch boutiques worldwide. And just like previous Bioceramic MoonSwatch drops, sales are limited to one watch per customer, per store.
